Walt Disney Imagineering Together with Khan Academy Launch ‘Imagineering in a Box’ Online!
For folks who have dreamt of becoming a Disney Imagineer since they were kids or more recently as adults who found themselves inspired to dream, build, and create, Disney in partnership with Khan Academy have just launched a new online program you won’t want to miss.
‘Imagineering in a Box’ is a FREE online program that has brought together the various talents of Disney Imagineers around the world for a learning experience like no other.
This one-of-a-kind program provides 32 videos that include Imagineers sharing a wide range of skills – “from story development and conceptual design to math, physics, and engineering – to create immersive experiences.” The curriculum creates fun and engaging opportunities as students explore new concepts.
The different segments of the online course progress from a tutorial on engineering software, to an interactive activity where students are instructed to collect items close to them and design something new. The hands-on components of the program will teach students how to relate new concepts to real-world examples in order to bring cherished Disney stories to life. Each activity is designed to be flexible which will allow the students to learn on their own or in a classroom setting.
