Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made - streaming Feb. 7 on Disney+

Thank you Disney Plus for inviting us to the World Premiere and press junket of Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made! I had the opportunity to interview Winslow Fegley (Timmy Failure), Ophelia Lovibond (Patty Failure), Wallace Shawn (Mr. Crocus of Princess Bride fame, “Inconceivable!”), Kyle Bornheimer (Crispin), Kei (Rollo Tookus), Ai-Chan Carrier (Corrina Corrina) and Chloe Coleman (Molly Moskin), what a cast.

Get ready to laugh, cry and embrace your quirkiness to it’s fullest extent! Directed by Tom McCarthy, based on the novel Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, this is the perfect family-friendly movie. You’ll never want to be “normal” again!

The running consensus during the interviews was how much fun it was filming, how important it is to embrace one’s uniqueness and individuality, and most importantly to have one person in your corner rooting for you. What struck a chord with me was when Mr. Wallace shared a memory with us when he was a young child. What blew me away was after all this time, this one negative impact stuck with him all his life, the importance of our educators and some moments define us, it either breaks you or makes you stronger.

Mr. Shawn summer camp experience when he was a child was heartbreaking, to say the least. This particular summer he had taken an overabundance of books to read, as he was unpacking a camp counselor pulled all the kids around to poke fun and laugh at Mr. Shawn for bringing books to read during his summer vacation. What a heartbreaking event that left an everlasting effect on Mr. Shawn that he still recalls many years later. The importance of grownups and the impact we have on children should never be forgotten. It is our responsibility to be kind, nurturing and understanding of our children. We must listen to our kids when they speak to us, support them when they want to read verses go swimming. I was once told that we should not have expectations of our children because those our expectations we have | had for ourselves, they are their own individuals and supporting them in whatever they want to do is the best thing we can do for them, this is what Timmy Failure drives home!

Timmy Failure is so much more than just a family movie, it’s about embracing individuality, knowing you have so much to have offer and believing that you can be anything you set your mind to.

I asked the cast what they wanted their audience goers to learn from Timmy Failure and the running theme was, being content with who you are and making sure you don’t change to fit in anyone’s cookie-cutter box of an existence they've placed for you. Shine bright, be unapologetically you and be brave, go forth, be fierce and remember to laugh, laugh out loud because life is fleeting.

Pop the popcorn, flip the burgers, and get those sundries ready to watch Timmy Failure: Mistakes were made this weekend on Disney Plus, and get ready to laugh!

P.S. Come back and let me know if you think the Polar Bear is real or part of Timmy’s imagination?
