Thank you STX Entertainment and Chloe Coleman for sitting and down for a candid conversation about MY SPY, life and school.
We had the chance to ask Chloe about Dave, her immediate connection with Dave made filing a breeze and she considers him a friend for life.
“First meeting him I was a bit intimiated. After we talked I really got to know him. He is not as intimidating as you think. He’s such a sweet person. I mean, he’s a lifelong friend. I am so grateful that we met each other. We relate to each other so much.” “Dave is so easy to connect with. When we had our chemistry read is when we really clicked and I will always remember that. When we filmed it was so real, and I was really able to be in the moment and feel what I had to feel. The emotional moments felt very real to me.” – Chloe
I needed to know, as a home school mom myself, does she attend school or have a tutor. Chloe attends school FULL TIME! This amazing little girl, goes to school full time, has a tutor and is insanely talented and marvelous actress. Chloe definitely sets the bar high, what a great role model she is for all kids and even grownups, that if you set your mind to it, you can do anything! You have to have the will, determination and mind set to believe in yourself.
I will leave you with one funny tidbit about what happened on MY SPY set. Chloe was asked what‘s the funniest thing to happen on set, Chloe, without missing a beat shared that there was a “swear jar.” Apparently director Peter Segal, has a colorful vocabulary, even when he thought what he said could slide, it didn’t, he fed the swear jar!

My Spy follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit.
The hilarious actioner is directed by Peter Segal from a script penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber and stars Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Ken Jeong. Producers are Chris Bender, Peter Segal, Jake Weiner, Robert Simonds, Gigi Pritzker, Dave Bautista and Jonathan Meisner.
