YES on PROP 22!

Prop 22 is a YES for me, it’s a campaign near and dear to my heart, and that’s why I’m bringing it to your attention. Prop 22 makes it possible for people to earn income and work based on their schedule. The flexibility for some families means putting food on the table versus not. We need to support our fellow families. They say it takes a village, and yes, it does, it takes a village to uplift one another. My mom has always said, “we are stronger when we stand by one another,” and this is one of those moments.

COVID and Prop 22

One of the many reasons I love Prop 22 is that during this most challenging time, apps like Uber, Lyft, and Postmates allow people like me the opportunity to work. From Single moms, retirees staying busy, to parents supplementing income. Working is important for our health and wellbeing. Working allows us to be confident, self-aware, and, most of all, it contributes to our overall happiness, while providing financial rewards.

Prop 22 makes our communities safer, healthier, and wealthier protecting jobs, increasing pay, increasing safety, and adding healthcare benefits.

Prop 22 protects app drivers' abilities to freelance and allows the necessary flexibility for more job creation.

More importantly:

● The coalition is purple, NAACP chapters endorse 22 as well as sheriffs.

● Prop 22 adds continuous background checks of drivers

● Prop 22 ensures guaranteed hourly earnings of 120% of minimum wage plus mileage

● Prop 22 includes funding for health benefits for drivers who work at least 15 hours per week
