"Storks" Flocking Your Way Sept 23!
If you ever get a chance to tour Warner Brother Studios, take it! Warner Brothers Entertainment Inc. is an American entertainment company. It is a division of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California. Warner Bros. has several subsidiary companies, including Warner Bros. Warner Bros. Animation is one of the leading producers of animation in the entertainment industry, with an innovative and talent-rich roster boasting some of the most accomplished writers, producers and artists working today. WBA is home to the iconic animated characters from the DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, MGM and Looney Tunes libraries. The studio is on the cutting edge of animation technology, and has both CG and traditionally animated projects in current production and development. In addition to TV programming, WBA has produced theatrically released CG cartoon shorts featuring iconic Looney Tunes characters, rendered in stereoscopic 3D. WBA also creates the highly successful series of DC Universe original animated movies for DVD.
Warner Bros. Entertainment headquarters sits on 142 acres in Burbank, California, which is considered one of the foremost motion picture and television production and post-production facilities in the world and home to 35 soundstages (including one of the world’s tallest stages, which has an in-ground tank capable of holding more than two million gallons of water). In addition, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities is responsible for managing the company’s studio in the U.K.–Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden–a 160-acre production facility that has been the production site of many highly acclaimed Warner Bros. movies including the eight Harry Potter films, The Dark Knight,Sherlock Holmes, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It is also the home of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London–The Making of Harry Potter, which has become one of the U.K.’s most popular tourist attractions since opening in March 2012.
Now with that said, they can throw a party! Imagine all of that at your disposal and receiving an invitation for a private prescreening of STORKS and reception to follow. It was truly a kidsfest, from the food trucks serving, Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Pizza, ice cream, cotton candy, refreshments and the piece de resistance, candy table. OMG, the table had massive jars with M&M, licorices, gum balls, swizzle sticks, hard candy, any type of candy you can think of, it was there, a childs dream come true. Now if that wasn’t enough we were invited the next day to attend Montage Beverly Hills to interview the main characters. Hold onto your seats or should I say buckle up, this was a wild ride.
The entryway of ballroom was adorned with STORKS animation, how certain scenes came to life, a table set with stunning flowers and children's paraphernalia displayed on the table. Walking into the room, it took my breath away, I truly want to have another child (STORK delivery) and have my baby shower JUST LIKE THIS. The room was every mother's dream come true. The setup was baby shower theme, baby clothes hanging from clothes line, every corner of the room was decorated. A living room to sit and relax with the bouncer and toys, another was the baby's room and play area, it was gorgeous. Montage Beverly Hills is known for their sophistication and perfection for their events, this was by far one of the greatest events I’ve attended. Between WB and Montage BH hosting, it was incredible, just like the movie, delightful, fun and makes you wish that STORKS really do deliver, I’d love my son to have a sibling.
We had the honor in interviewing Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Kramer Glickman, Writer/Director Nicholas Stoller, Director Doug Sweetland, Producer Brad Lewis, Andy Samberg and Katie Crown. What an ensemble, we not only got to pick the directors minds but we had direct access to the main actors and actress of the movie. I was so blown away how everyone was down to earth, funny and real. I had the opportunity to ask Kelsey Grammer about the movie:
Kathy: Have your children seen it?
Mr. Kelsey Grammer: No. You know, when I watched it the first time around 10:00. Now, we just got back from New York, which seems incongruous that my son will not go to sleep and my daughter passes out at 6:00, so they're on different schedules. She is four, he's two, but they didn't really watch the movie. I put it on and Gabriel just looked at me the whole time. "What are you doing?" "It's nothing, really."
Kathy: Does he know--?
Mr. Kelsey Grammer: --And Faith was passed out--.
Kathy: --That it's you? Does he understand?
Mr. Kelsey Grammer: I think he does.
Kathy: Okay.
Mr. Kelsey Grammer: I think that's why his face was sort of--.
Kathy: --Why is the voice coming from there and not from you?
Mr. Kelsey Grammer: And I'm still not sure he quite figured it out. He's only 2, so he’ll get it in a year or so.
Can I tell you how much I love Kelsey Grammer, he was animated, spirited and full of life. He was perfect in playing Hunter, the big bad boss. Stephen Kramer Glickman played Pigeon, Hunters sidekick and he was hilarious, especially when he breaks out into a song. The sheer thought of him singing is slapstick funny. ~Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for a global internet retail giant. Junior (Andy Samberg), the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.
The animated adventure “Storks” stars Andy Samberg (“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” “Hotel Transylvania”), Kelsey Grammer (“Toy Story 2,” “The Simpsons”), Katie Crown (Cartoon Network’s “Clarence”), Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele (Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele”), and Danny Trejo (“The Book of Life”). The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors,” BAFTA nominee for “Muppets Most Wanted”), and Doug Sweetland (supervising animator on “Cars,” Oscar-nominated director of the animated short “Presto”).
Stoller also wrote the “Storks” screenplay, and serves as a producer along with Brad Lewis (“Ratatouille”). The executive producers are Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Glenn Ficarra, John Requa and Jared Stern. A Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, “Storks” is slated for release in 2D, and in 3D in select theaters, on September 23, 2016.
