MEGA PLAY DATE... MORE LIKE EPIC PLAY DATE!

Thank you Club MomMe for inviting us to your MEGA PLAY DATE at the Petersen Museum this past weekend. To say this was an EPIC event is an understatement! The Petersen Museum is

home to some of the most exquisite antique cars with rich history. Receiving an invitation to attend NICK JR. event for MEGA PLAY DATE to play and learn about SHIMMER and SHINE and BLAZE ad the MONSTER MACHINES, we couldn’t pass it up.

The penthouse is located on the rooftop of the Petersen Museum and it was filled with bright, magnetic colors, intricate geometric patterns, plush rugs, lantern-style lights and plush ottomans, the Moroccan style inspired you to embrace the bold and the extravagant and have you wishing for your very own genie in a bottle. The room which has a stunning view of Los Angeles was an unabated celebration of life with bright colors and diverse textures galore, the room was streaming with the newest SHIMMER and SHINE, BLAZE and the MONSTER MACHINES interactive toys for everyone to play with. The outskirts of the room was where our little ones could ride a motorized BLAZE, take photos at the Flip Booth, color, decorate cookies, design jewel cuffs, fill bags of chocolate, draw and so much more.

We had the honor of meeting the creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine, Farnaz Charmatz. Not only were we able to speak to her she held story-time for the children! Here’s a fun fact, Shimmer and Shine Princess Samira was named after her 5 year old daughter! How could you not love a show that was designed by a woman who incorporates her child's name and teaches children about the importance of friendship, loyalty and the importance of thinking for yourself. If you’ve yet to discover these two wonderful shows take the time and watch it with your little one. My son loves both shows, I firmly believe in gender neurtrality so there is no “girl’ show or “boy” show in our home. The shows must teaches tolerance, acceptance, compassion, no bullying, love and the importance of thinking outside the box.
