Disneyland Holidays

“Every child is blessed with a vivid imagination"~ Walt Disney

I’m in good company when it gets to birthdays, Mickey Mouse was born November 18, 1928 and I on November 22... never mind the year, lol. To think 88 years ago Walt Disney thought of and created this adorable mouse that we’ve all come to love blows my mind. I wonder if Walt was still alive what he would say, how he would feel knowing Walt Disney World is truly the happiest place on earth. Not only are we celebrating Mickey's birthday but this is when we shift gears for the holidays and NO one does it better than Disneyland. It’s a sight to be seen, it's spectacular!

This years holiday season was kicked into full gear, receiving an invitation to discover all the holiday magic at Disneyland. I was given the opportunity to view the all-new, “World of Color – Season of Light” and enjoy Festival of Holidays which is new this year at Disney California Adventure Park. Santa has a fun new location too, at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, we got to experience annual traditions such as snowfall on Main Street U.S.A., the glistening décor on Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle which will have you dreaming of a white Christmas and now celebrating its 20th holiday season, “it’s a small word” Holiday.

World of Color – Season of Light show has nearly 1,200 musical water fountains and includes lights, fire, lasers, and fog, with high-definition projections on mist screens. This show is unlike anything you've ever seen before, the grandeur, colors, characters coming to life is breathtaking. The pageantry of this exquisite show engulfs you with the warmth of the holidays. You want to jump out of your seat and grab the person next to you and wish them a happy holiday. You’ll truly feel like their can be peace on earth if everyone for one moment took time out to see life as it truly is, beautiful and mesmerizing. The World of Color – Season of Light awakens a sleeping spirit inside you that fills your heart with gratitude, love and joy. You have to see the show, if you do nothing at all this season make it a point to SEE this! World of Color – Season of Light will be running at Disney California Adventure park nightly through January 8, 2017.

Now plan out your day, first stop Small World, get your fast pass because you don’t want to miss the splendor of the season with a yuletide version of this song-filled attraction. Sing at the top of your lungs while you're parading around the world. We were lucky, everyone on our boat started singing, two words to describe our boat trip, epically fun. Make sure you catch the Jingle Cruise it’s an adventure featuring comical holiday surprises at every twist and turn. You’ll discover what happens to lost presents and more. Last but not least the Haunted House is wickedly spooktacular. The unearthly haunted mansion is a home to ghosts, ghouls and supernatural surprises. Prepared to be spooked by the unseen and catapulted into the supernatural.

Once you’ve seen the attractions that are here for a limited time make your way over to Cars Land for Radiator Springs Racers. In our home Cars is on loop, we know all the scenes. This ride is a carbon copy of Cars 1, when Sally takes McQueen for a ride and race. It starts off slow and sweet, cruising by the waterfall, taking twist and turns softly and then, BAM, the race is on!!!! Buckle up and hold on, this ride zips through Radiator Springs like a bolt of lighting. My heart was pounding, my little one the other hand requested to go on it again. Thank goodness we had fast passes to Soarin Around the World that we couldn’t miss. I do know that our next visit we'll be starting off at Radiator Springs Racers because I promised we would.

Disney thank you for being a beacon of light and hope to all. When we're at Disneyland it’s magical, Pixie Dust is truly in the air, this is where love is magnified and our hearts are filled with content. There's no other way to kick off the holiday season other than Disneyland. The holiday has officially started and we can’t wait to go back before the new year to see the shows one last time before it’s gone.
