A Monster Calls Interview with Felicity Jones!

~The monster does not come walking often. This time it comes to Connor, and it asks for the one thing Connor cannot bring himself to do. Tell the truth. This is a very touching story about a boy who feels very damaged, guilty and mostly angry. He struggles at school with bullies, and pity looks from everyone, and at home with his mother's sickness. Will Connor overcome his problems? Will everything be okay? Will Connor be able to speak the truth?

A Monster Calls is a devastatingly stunning movie that touches your very core, it shakes your soul and has you appreciate your loved ones. We were given access to preview A Monster Calls and afterwards interview the ever gracious, stunning Felicity Jones. I was able to ask her why she chose to make this movie and low and behold she shared that she was raised by a single mum with her brother. When you watch this movie you will understand why this is an important piece of information.

Kathy~ Felicity we were given a chance to preview the movie earlier and we were one hot mess earlier, the movie is absolutely devastatingly beautiful. And as a single mom, and as a mom, I was just torn up, it’s every fear that you ever have as-as a parent. I must ask, you’ve been in some pretty dark movies, what drew you to this particular movie?

FELICITY~ I think it was the authenticity of the character and the raw emotions of the movie. I’m glad i was able to stir such emotion, I hope you found that. That it just felt very real. It felt...Raw, it felt honest, and it didn’t feel like it was trying to sort of pretend that

things are more easy than they are in reality. It was felt very truthful. I think you know, I was very close to both my parents, but I grew up with just my mother, and she was, a single parent, and I guess some of that resonated when I was reading the script, and that sort of touched me, that side of it, that she, you know, in so many ways, she’s everyone's friend and strength.

A Monster Calls hits selects theaters on December 23 and Nationwide on January 6.
