Smurfs: The Lost Village In Theaters April In Theaters 4/7

I was recently invited to the Smurfs Lost Village Press Junket where I met Director Kelly Asbury, Demi Lovato, Joe Manganiello and Ariel Winter. Not only were we lucky to interview the cast but People magazine was there live streaming the interview! As you can see the spark the cast shared will make this movie a HUGE success. It takes a lot to bring a magnificent script to life especially in an animation. The mixture takes talented actors and actresses, chemistry and most importantly passion in what they’re doing, having one vision, sending a clear cut message that Smurfs and YOU can do anything you want, no matter your what your size is, you have the ability to move mountains and clearly this group has it all!

What I love most about Smurfs The Lost Village, it’s a movie for everyone. Smurfs Lost Village teaches a phenomenal life lesson, girls you have a voice, come into your own with confidence and grace, never let anyone place a label on you. It’s important to know that family and finding your tribe of friends is everything. These are the people that will help you get to the next level, they will be your cheerleaders and wipe away your tears, they are the ones that love you hard.

During the interview I asked Joe Manganiello if the children at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital had viewed the move as of yet since he’s on the board. Not only had he held a private screening for the children but was able to take Hefty (his character) to walk around and take pictures with the children. This is the perfect example of finding your tribe, Sony Animation supported Joe in bringing a moment of happiness for the children of Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. How much more beautiful can this get? I was in tears when he was sharing the story.

Not only has Sony Animation helped the children at Children's Hospital Pittsburgh but there world premiere was held in Culver City. Culver City is celebrating their Centennial year and they did not hold back in celebrating their FIRST ever world premiere. Mayor Jim Clarke got in on the action also, wearing a white Smurfs hat and he OFFICIALLY declared one of the streets in the fair to be renamed Smurfs Lane for the day. WOW, Sony and Culver City teamed up and hit a smurf slam of a home run!

The morning of the world premiere the area in front of the ArchLight was transformed into a colorful Smurfs-themed street fair in honor of Smurfs The Lost Village. From colorful bounce house, families had fun with carnival games and free food for a few hours before being treated to a show when many of the film’s stars, including Demi Lovato, Joe Manganiello, and Danny Pudi, made their arrival.

I want to thank Sony Animation, Sony Studios and their entire team for putting on such an amazing event and most importantly thank you for including us. We will never forgot the magical memory you help create for us. Most importantly thank you for bringing back the Smurfs. They were a huge part of my childhood and I was able to share that with my little one, which makes it priceless.

Best friends Smurfette (Demi Lovato), Brainy (Danny Pudi), Clumsy (Jack McBrayer) and Hefty (Joe Manganiello) use a special map that guides them through the Forbidden Forest, an enchanted wonderland that's filled with magical creatures. Their adventure leads them on a course to discover the biggest secret in Smurf history as they race against time and the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) to find a mysterious village.
