To celebrate the Digital release of Disney Christopher Robin I was invited to FriendsGiving with Jim Cummings and friends. What a delightful afternoon, we had a flower arrangement class and afterward, a lovely luncheon with Jim, view our beautiful afternoon pictures here.

Working with Disney has been such an unbelievable blessing, as a Disney Mom I got to meet my childhood character that I love and grew up with. I remember vividly my mom and dad reading Winnie The Pooh and or putting on a VHS tape or turning on the TV and there was special Winnie the Pooh episode, and BAM, there was Pooh. That voice, reassuring, sweet, and delightful bellowing and I knew I was about to start an adventure. Jim Cummings has been the voice of Pooh since 1988! Jim started to voice Pooh after Hal Smith passed away in 1988. Jim also voiced Tigger throughout the years when Paul Winchell (Tiggers Voice) was doing humanitarian work in Africa. Prior to Paul passing away, Paul asked Jim too, “Take care of my little buddy.”

Jim also shared with us a moment that a family had called him because their son wanted to speak to “Pooh” because he had questions. When Jim got on the phone with a little boy they spoke for almost over an hour. Jim asked the little boy if he would get his parents on the phone and when his parent came on, they apologized for not grabbing the phone sooner because they were in complete shock that their son was speaking to Jim because their son has been non-verbal since the age of 3! Let that sink in, Winnie the Pooh aka Jim Cummings brought this little boy out of his shell. Jim is a national treasure, not because he’s the voice of Pooh and other beloved characters because when he shared his stories he was authentically choked up. Jim is full of life, charismatic and authentic, this is exactly why we love Pooh, he is home, he is safe and we all have a little Pooh inside of us.

Thank you, Disney, for including me, I was having an out-of-body experience, my childhood was flashing before my eyes as Jim was speaking and excited to know that my kiddo shares my love of Pooh, life has come full circle.
