Instant Family Consultants Behind The Scenes

Thank you Paramount Pictures for inviting me to the Premiere of Instant Family which is an outstanding, heartwarming film, a family movie that will have you double over with laughter. On a side note I commend Paramount Pictures for canceling the red carpet and after party of Instant Family, they donated all the food to the Red Cross to help our first responders that were fighting the horrendous blaze that has torn apart our beautiful community of Malibu, throughout Thousand Oaks and Calabasas. At a moment of sheer terror, Paramount Pictures stepped up and helped our beloved community, I thank you with all my heart.

Instant Family tugs at your heart, a story about adoption and family, life and love. Growing up I had always wanted a big family, however, life has different things in store for us. I know my kiddo would make an awesome big brother and hopefully one day I’m able to expand our family through adoption. In the system, there are currently 107,918 foster children eligible for and waiting to be adopted. In 2014, 50,644 foster kids were adopted — a number that has stayed roughly consistent for the past five years. The average age of a waiting child is 7.7 years old and 29% of them will spend at least three years in foster care. It breaks my heart to know that there are children that need a bed, a home, just to be loved, breaks my heart.

Going into Instant Family I really didn’t know what to expect, would it be funny, sappy, will I like it? I left with a belly ache from laughing so hard and heart so swollen with love, that for a moment, I felt the world would be okay if more people would share their love. Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne have chemistry on screen that lights up, the “kids” Isabela Moner, Gustavo Quiroz, Julianna Gamiz are priceless, and Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro who are the "caseworkers" are blunt and sassy. What I loved about Instant Family, it was real, not sugar-coated, it was life. Even in our everyday lives, we have to remember to take a moment and laugh because life can be overwhelming and we always need to find the good. Instant Family is exactly that, take life with a grain a salt and enjoy the little moments. I highly recommend seeing Instant Family over Thanksgiving weekend. This is a family movie that you don’t want to miss.

When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family. INSTANT FAMILY is inspired by the real events from the life of writer/director Sean Anders and also stars Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale.
