Disney's 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' out on Digital February 12, coming to 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on February 26!
Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to meet Scott Kersavage, Ernest J. Petti (Technical Supervisor), Bradford Simonsen (Associate Producer) and Alan Tudyk, who plays Mr. KnowsMore. Ralph Breaks the Internet, as you guessed it, takes place in the internet and creating “world of the internet” began with research at the One Wilshire building. Johnston and Moore talked about their trip to One Wilshire in Los Angeles, a building that houses all the internet communications for the west coast. The structures inside the building inspired how the internet looked in the film. The internet being intricate, it was their goal to bring big and small onto the big screen.
Did you know you don’t need permission to show a site’s logo in a film, that blew my mind! I was wondering how they were able to get all the sites up there. Make sure when you’re watching the movie keep your eyes peeled for Easter Eggs, they're peppered throughout the entire movie and it’s glorious. Meeting with Scott Kersavage (Visual Effects Supervisor), Ernest J. Petti (Technical Supervisor), and Bradford Simonsen (Associate Producer), they talked about the technical aspects of building the world of the internet. They wanted the environment to be largely inspired by computer hardware, but escalate it to a larger scale to help make it look like a real city. The detail that it entailed was remarkable, when you sit back, listen and watch what they have created is remarkable, mind-blowing.
Last but not least Alan Tudyk, who plays Mr. KnowsMore. Alan has been in many Disney films, but his first role with Disney Animation Studios was as King Candy in Wreck-it-Ralph. Tudyk said as a voice actor, he’s inspired to do voices in different ways. Talk about talented, Alan can change voices mid-sentence, on a whim without blinking an eye. Sometimes when he looks the character before him he can imagine exactly what they will sound like and in other instances, the directors will guide him. For the voice of Mr. KnowsMore, Rich Moore had said he was looking for a cross between Truman Capote and Droopy Dog and BAM, the voice of Mr. KnowsMore was born!

“Ralph Breaks the Internet” arrives home with a wide-range of exclusive extras, taking
fans behind the scenes at Walt Disney Animation Studios to explore how artists created
the film’s vibrant version of the internet from comical cat videos to the intense
online game Slaughter Race to shady characters on the Dark Net. Features also
reveal some Easter eggs inside jokes and references to other Disney films
and characters hidden throughout the film and filmmakers introduce
some never before revealed deleted scenes.
Directed by Rich Moore (Academy Award winning “Zootopia,” “Wreck It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” writer, “Cedar Rapids”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt,” “Lilo & Stitch”), “Ralph Breaks the Internet” welcomes back favorite cast and characters introduced six years ago, including Reilly, who provides the voice of Ralph, and Silverman, who returns as the voice of Vanellope. Lending a virtual hand to Ralph and Vanellope is Shank, voiced by Gal Gadot, a tough as nails driver from a gritty online auto racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had. Yesss, voiced by Taraji P. Henson, the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site BuzzzTube, makes Ralph a viral sensation.
Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch return as the voices of Fix-It Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun, respectively, and Disney Animation’s good luck charm, actor Alan Tudyk was called on to voice a search engine named KnowsMore—literally a know-it-all—who runs a search bar and helps Ralph and Vanellope on their quest. Lots of exciting cameos are also featured in the film including a scene that reunites all of the original (living) Disney Princess voice cast. “Ralph Breaks the Internet” will be packaged and released several different ways, offering families the flexibility to watch the movie instantly and on a variety of different devices of their choosing.
