Troop Zero - Amazon Original | Watch it Now on Prime Video‎!

For everyone that's ever felt left out, bullied, weird, just plain ole different, this is the movie to show you that being quirky is what makes you unique and it's exactly what the world needs today.

Imagine if you will, our story takes place In rural 1977 Georgia, a free-spirited young girl dreams of making contact with outer space. When a national competition offers her a chance to be recorded on NASA’s Golden Record and become part of space history, with the help of an unlikely troop leader, she recruits a make shift troop of Birdie Scouts forging friendships that last a lifetime and beyond.

Every night, Christmas Flint (Mckenna Grace) sits under a starry sky with a flashlight, signaling to extraterrestrial visitors that never arrive. Free-spirited, imaginative and deeply lonely, Christmas and her equally eccentric best friend Joseph are the ultimate outsiders in their rural hometown of Wiggly, Georgia. When Christmas learns that the winners of the annual Birdie Scout Jamboree talent contest will be included on a recording to be sent into space for posterity, her mission in life becomes to win the Jamboree.

When she is blackballed by the snobbish local Birdie Scout troop and their uptight leader Miss Massey (Allison Janney), Christmas rallies a group of elementary-school outliers to start their own chapter. With grudging help from her dad’s irascible office manager, Miss Rayleen (Viola Davis), Christmas and her crew have to bypass every roadblock Miss Massey can find in the fine print of the Birdie bylaws in order to reach the Jamboree and their chance at immortality.

Troop Zero is directed by the award-winning directing team Bert & Bertie (The Taxidermist, Worm, Phobias) from a script by Oscar® nominee Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild). The film stars Academy Award® winners Viola Davis (Fences, The Help) and Allison Janney (I, Tonya, “Mom”), Mckenna Grace (I, Tonya; Gifted), Jim Gaffigan (“The Jim Gaffigan Show,” Chappaquiddick), Mike Epps (The Hangover, “Uncle Buck”), Edi Patterson (“The Last O.G.,” “Black-ish”), Charlie Shotwell (All the Money in the World, The Glass Castle), and introducing Milan Ray, Johanna Colón and Bella Higginbotham.

Bert and Bertie count themselves extremely lucky to have found such supportive partners in Amazon Studios for their first feature. “It was a wonderful surprise to us that working in Hollywood could be such an intimate experience,” says Bertie. “We’ve made professional and personal friendships at the same time. Amazon is about making great films, films that are interesting and entertaining and have a really compelling twist.”

Thank you Amazon Prime Video for inviting me to the Press Junket and Premiere of Troop Zero. When we watched Troop Zero, all I could think of was, "To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don't need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself!" Believe in yourself and know that you are meant to do something magical.
