A Touch of Disney!

Thank you Disneyland for inviting me to A Touch of Disney. It’s been exactly a year since I’ve been to Disney. Last year this time we were in Florida at WDW celebrating Disney Creators, and now a full year later, I was invited to Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth!

Pulling into the parking lot I started to cry, COVID has taken so much away from all us and to be able to get back somewhat normal it’s surreal.

As I was walking towards DCA, my heart started to pound and I felt a sensation take over, it was hope and sheer excitement. Handed the cast member my ticket and as I walked in I stood there for a moment and looked around, taking it all in. I wanted to say Thank You to all the cast members for everything they are doing, thank you to them for keeping the magic alive.

Here are some tips when attending A Touch of Disney:

  • When you’re visiting Disney please wear a mask, don’t give cast members a hard time when they’re enforcing rules, and please, say hello to cast members when possible. A little kindness goes a long way. Remember you see them for a split second while they are there all day dealing with all walks of life.

  • Shoes: wear comfortable shoes, there will be a lot of walking involved! The tram that usually takes you from the parking structure to Downtown Disney is still shut down due to COVID-19. You will have to walk the tram route all the way down to the park area where you will get in line to get into the park. Remember, it’s been a solid year since you’ve been to Disneyland, walking a theme park is very different then walking around the neighborhood. Wear comfortable shoes, you’ll thank me.

  • Download the Disneyland app immediately, before your arrival. Your Touch of Disney ticket includes a $25 gift card for food that you’ll receive at the gate entrance to the park. You can use it towards food and drink items (excluding alcohol). You’ll want to place mobile order on the app! Some of the stands even requirethat you mobile order as they are trying to encourage touch-less ordering. Mobile order is the way to go, you can plan out exactly what you’re going to try and what time. This will give you plenty of time to wander and explore DCA while maximizing all the Disney wonder.

  • Character pictures aren’t like before, the characters come out to play! Watch my Instagram highlight, I watched Max and Goofy fish and dance at the Pacific Wharf. My heart was overjoyed seeing them in action.

  • Pictures: when you see a cast member, have them take your picture. With your ticket you get unlimited download to pictures. This is your moment of getting gorgeous pictures, and YOU being in it, yes mama I’m talking to you! There’s always one parent that’s not in the pictures, well this time you can be in them and it’s taken by a professional.

From the bottom of my heart I hope you have the chance to enjoy the event for yourselves and if you don’t I hope you enjoyed following along.

Thank you Disneyland for inviting me back, I truly hope to be back soon, there’s no place like home.
