THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES is on Digital, DVD and Blu-Ray!

I’m so excited that THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES is on Blu-Ray! THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES had a huge impact in our lives, we took a family trip to Paris and we started baking! After Katie Mitchell’s mom made the melting face cupcake (we laughed till we peed) we set out a mission to not make a melting face cupcake. Below is a step by step of how to make your very own edible image and or like we did, a pic on a stick! Have fun and I hope your family movie night is just as fun as ours was with THE MITCHELLS VS. THE MACHINES Blu-Ray!

Steps for Edible Photo Cupcake Toppers!

If you have an Edible Ink Printer, here’s a step by step how to create your image.

Step 1. Prepare your edible printer together with the blank frosting sheets and edible in cartridges. Remember that you must not remove the plastic backing before you print. Once the sheet has been printed, let the sheets dry for 5-12 minutes. Once it’s dry, detach and uphold the cake photo from the frosting sheet.

Step 2. Remove the printed photo from the backing sheet. Put the printed frosting sheet inside the freezer for 1 minute. Just hold the corners with the photo facing up. Roll it across the edges of the tabletop then carefully work from all sides toward the center.

Step 3. Once you’re done dealing with the photo, you can now proceed to the cupcake. Knead the cupcake until it’s pliable. The cutting board needs to be powdered with corn starch using a rolling pin. Use a cupcake cutter to cut shapes.

Step 4. You can make use of a curved cupcake cutter that is the same as the size of the top portion of the cupcakes to cut fondant portions. If you want to put rainbow effects, you have to roll many color of the fondant into the board. Combine them with the use of water and just let it flatten using the rolling pin.

Step 5. Brush a little coating of water on the back part of your cut out photos and place them onto the fondant buttons. Once it’s set, you can do the frosting on the face part of your cupcakes and place one of the edible cupcake toppers on the frosting.

Step 6. You should observe proper storage. If you will not serve your cupcakes right away, then it’s best to keep the edible photo toppers in a sealed container until the time you will serve them. Afterward, place them on the cupcakes up to quite a few hours right before you serve it.

I know not everyone has an Edible Ink Printer, I don’t, so I’ve done the next best thing and it takes minutes to create!

Your local arts and crafts store sells Jumbo Wood Craft sticks, get those. Now, pick a picture, print it out on stock sheet and make sure to print 12 on a sheet (12 pictures at 8.5x11 U.S Letter.) Cut out the pictures and super glue it on the individual stick. It’s that simple and super fun to do.
