The live television production will capture all-new depths of theatrical innovation where the power of optimism really can save the world. The SpongeBob Musical: Live On Stage! will air on Nickelodeon this December.

Tom Kenny an amazing actor and comedian, is known for voicing SpongeBob SquarePants TV series, video games, and films. Tom live-action work includes the comedy variety shows The Edge and Mr. Show. Kenny has won two Daytime Emmy Awards and two Annie Awards for his voice work as SpongeBob SquarePants and the Ice King. Tom often collaborates with his wife and fellow voice artist Jill Talley, who plays Karen on SpongeBob SquarePants.

Ethan Slater is an actor, singer, writer, and composer best known for his role as SpongeBob SquarePants in the musical of the same name, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical category.

SpongeBob SquarePants and all of Bikini Bottom bring a party full of heart and humor in The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!, arriving on DVD Tomorrow from Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon Home Entertainment.

“I’ve had a blast portraying live-action suburban buccaneer and President of the SpongeBob SquarePants Fan Club, ‘Patchy the Pirate,’ since the character’s first appearance in season two of SpongeBob SquarePants way back in 2000,” said Kenny. “I loved The SpongeBob Musical, and I was thrilled to be included in it both in pre-recorded (‘French Narrator’) and songwriter (‘Best Day Ever’) forms! But to now have the opportunity to actually step onstage and perform alongside members of the original Broadway production is truly a unique honor. It’s ‘meta times ten,’ and I think Nickelodeon’s audience will really get a kick out of it!”
