THE STARLING Junket with Director Ted Melfi, Producing Partner Kimberly Quin!

THE STARLING is releasing in select theaters on Friday, September 17th and on Netflix Friday, September 24th

Thank you Netflix, (Director) Ted Melfi and (Producer) Kimberly Quinn for sitting down and talking to us about 'The Starling' an extremely touching movie that will tug at your heart strings.

"The Starling," McCarthy plays Lilly, who after the loss of her baby daughter finds it difficult to leave her home and this is where she comes across a Starling that begins to taunt her. As she’s battling with the bird, she begins to come to terms with her life, who she is and how she’ll move on. As the Melfi team put it, “You have to figure out who you are, because every where you go, there you’ll be!” Yes, read that twice and yes, I wrote it correctly.

Mr. Melfi had mentioned that originally the main character was suppose to be male lead and not a female lead, so they decided to switch up so Lilly's character was strong and holding the world down and Jack's character was looking for a way to figure out his life. And that's when they thought about Melissa.

Another bombshell, the opening scene of "The Starling," Melissa McCarthy and Chris O'Dowd play a married couple who are painting the nursery for their newborn daughter. You would never know it, but the two actors were actually across the globe from each other filming this over Zoom!

Melissa was in Australia shooting 'Nine Perfect Strangers' and Chris was in Los Angeles. Melfi was wondering how he was going to shot the scene, so they shot Chris on the set, and built the room out and shot it with a stand-in and then sent that footage to Melissa… then she had a day off and “we made it all happen."

Catch the entire interview above, it’s absolutely spectacular!
