THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE Press Trip!
Have you ever wished that you could do something big for your kiddo? Mine was to stay at LEGOLAND Resort, ever since I became a LEGOLAND California ambassador I had hoped that one day I’ll be able to stay at their super fun and uber cool resort. Well, when people say put positive thoughts into the universe I wholeheartedly couldn’t agree more. I received an invitation from Warner Brothers to cover THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE but it didn’t stop there, it was an invitation to stay the night at the resort! Be still my beating heart, I’ve just been invited to screen one of the hottest movies of the year, interview an outstanding cast, play in Legoland and stay at LEGOLAND California, OMG!!! I’m surprised you didn’t hear me screaming when I received the invitation, my dog was startled poor guy, he literally jumped out of his bed, lol.
So, of course, the second thing I think of after receiving a remarkable invitation like this, what am I going to pack my clothes in? After standing in my closet for what seemed several hours, in reality, 20 minutes, it dawned on me that I can use my Ju-Ju-Be Diaper bag for myself. Actually, I used two Ju-Ju- Be bags, one was the BFF Diaper bag and the other was the tote. Mom hack 101, if you have a paci pod, use it to store your phone charger and hang it from your bag so you don't loose and its easily accessible. And for my little dude, eBags came to the rescue, they carry the coolest LEGO luggage products! Since kiddo loves being a fireman, he got the LEGO Firefighter backpack and a Ninjago crunch bucket. The Ninjago crunch bucket is spectacular for many reasons, while we were at LEGOLAND that’s how he carried his legos and toys but here’s the great part, this will be his Halloween and Easter basket! Way to go EBags for creating a multifunctional bucket for our kiddos!
Now off to LEGOLAND we go, I can’t thank Warner Brothers enough for giving us the opportunity to stay at LEGOLAND Resort for this auspicious occasion. Not only do we love the Ninjago ride but we were so excited about the movie. When you’re cruising down Lego Drive to LEGOLAND you start smiling, alongside the lush greenery are life-sized legos characters greeting as you make your way down the path. Pulling up into the resort parking lot everything is so colorful, you automatically perk up. Just walking up to the front of the hotel, you have a tower with a giant dragon keeping watch of the parking lot. Now, get ready when you enter the resort the very first thing your kiddo will see is a huge castle with a lego playing area. SCORE! While you’re checking in the kids are playing, this right here, sets the precedence of the trip, it’s going to be 100% play. You’ve checked in and now you’re lucky enough to take the elevator. Listen to me, when you check in ask for a room on the second or third floor, the elevator is EPIC! You step in, looks normal, regular key punch pad, okay, you press the button, elevator door closes and then the music comes on, colorful lights start lighting up the elevator and BAM you have a mini club in the elevator. It’s so freaking AWESOME! I think every elevator needs this, could you imagine how happy everyone will be.
Walking into our room was everything I expected and more, it’s a kids oasis. Our room theme was pirates, from the wallpaper to our bedspread, was skulls and pirates. We had a safe in our room with a monkey sitting on top of it that held a treasure for us to retrieve. Here’s the cool part about your safe, when you check in you're challenged to a scavenger hunt, when completed you’ll figure out the code to the safe which holds a surprise for your little one. The resort is spectacular, no matter what your age, you will love LEGOLAND Resort.
Warner Brothers had set up a session with Simon Lucas the NINJAGO Master Builder! We were given chance to attend a Master Class. Check out my impromptu interview with him and please forgive the background noise, the adults, err, I mean kids were having fun. After our super cool master class, we had a chance to go on the Ninjago ride. If you’ve never been on Ninjago it’s a 3D ride, where you’ll come across fireballs, lightning, shockwaves, and ice, You control these elements to defeat the Great Devourer and earn ninja status. That right there is your clue to what THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE has in store for you! Next, we were off to the screening which you can read about here. After our screening we had a huge reception waiting for us, there was charcuterie artist on hands to draw us, mini lego figurine stations, photo booth and the yummiest food! What a way to end our first night, AH-MAZING!
Can you imagine that was just our first day! The following morning we woke up to Ninja Yoga by the pool. As we all found our mats with our ninja towels, we stretched, posed and most importantly laughed at our attempt to pitch the perfect pose. After our morning exercise, we were off to get ready for our press junket. Nowadays if you don't have a picture of an event, did it really happen? Folks I can tell you I have a picture and it happened, we were able to snag a group shot with the talent of the movie! What a moment, it was euphoric, I’m so grateful for every single minute of it. The press junket was as every bit funny and entertaining as the movie. Check out my previous blog post to get the details. After the press junket, we had the rest of the day visiting LEGOLAND.
I want to take a moment out and THANK Warner Brothers for hosting such an unbelievable press junket and press trip, you’ll never know how grateful I am for including me and my family, it was a dream come true. Make sure you see THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE that’s out tomorrow, Sept. 22nd! You’re going to love it!
